Sherwoode is situated in the designated Ayers Hill Road Historic Conservation zone of Stirling in the Adelaide Hills.
Set amongst stately homes and English style gardens, many of which were established as summer residences of the Adelaide gentry in the late 1800’s.
The property itself is studded with century old oaks, elms and Californian redwood trees offering shade, and producing it’s own micro climate.
Although less than 20 mins from the CBD, it is also less than an hours drive to the famous winery regions of the Barossa Valley, the River Murray, McLaren Vale, and the Adelaide Hills, as well as the scenic beaches of the South Coast and Victor Harbor. Historic Hahndorf is 10 mins away.
For those more interested in a local experience, short walks from the front gate along Oak and Elm tree lined streets are an enchanting experience, and the lovely Stirling Village with it’s coffee shops and cafes is a short stroll away. The breathtaking view from Mt Lofty summit is a five minute drive away.
In keeping with it’s surrounds, Sherwoode offers luxury private accommodation. It caters for a maximum of 2 guests with a quarter acre sized secluded landscaped garden including barbecue, and fire pit, for the exclusive use of occupants. The attention to detail is evident with the addition of a vehicle turntable to enable convenient exit to the street with no reversing.
Inclusions such as a coffee machine, wifi, cable TV, and luxury bath robes, are consistent with the quality of this exceptional retreat.

What our guests say
My Wife and I stayed at Sherwoode B&B for 3 nights during the month of April. The second we drove up to the building we were already impressed. The outside is a great bluestone façade, set amongst amazing and peaceful garden surroundings . To our surprise, the cottage has a vehicle turntable making parking a breeze. We were greeted very warmly by Warwick and Cathy, who whilst more than happy to assist in any way, also allowed us to enjoy the gardens in absolute privacy. The room is a great size with a shower in the separate ensuite. The B & B itself shows such attention to detail, with great additional features, such as cable TV, Wi Fi, Kitchen / BBQ and reverse cycle air conditioning. The cottage was so conveniently located to several major South Australian wine regions including the Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills and Maclaren Vale. Shops are an easy 10 mins walk along tree lined streets, with a huge array of local hills shops, cafes and shopping to choose from, and only 15 minutes’ drive from the CBD of Adelaide. We really appreciated that Warwick and Cathy on advising ‘things to do’ if we asked and were a wealth of knowledge of the area. All in all, this was a fantastic stay with two really nice people who made us feel welcome with fantastic service. Absolutely recommend.

A lovely getaway in the hills
We had a wonderful stay at Sherwoode B&B; a gorgeous studio cottage in a lovely lush private garden setting.
Just up the freeway from Adelaide and a short drive (2mins) from the centre of Stirling, this was a great place to stay for a little getaway.
The owners are just next door (but completely separate) and so helpful – all the added extras were appreciated (afternoon cakes, coffee machine, fresh crusty bread, Easter chocolate, fluffy towels and robes etc etc).
It was a very nice touch having a bottle of bubbly to celebrate our anniversary!
Thanks Warwick & Cathy, we’ll be back 🙂
